I’m having the normal binding issue on my 93 Subaru Legacy wagon. I’m about 200 miles from home would it hurt my transmission to put the FWD fuse in place? I’m in Bellingham Washington. How much does this cost to fix?

    • Martin Hand says:

It will be fine to run it in FWD mode until you can get it repaired. The repair really varies in price depending on what is needed. Could be up to or more than $1000 so you really need to consider the mileage and performance of the transmission. If the transmission is high mileage or shifting poorly you should consider a complete rebuild or remanufactured transmission.
